Fort Widley - Pictures

Fort Widley, Portsmouth – 14 November 2009
Team A
West Tunnel – 21:15
Upper floor
Mike picks up the residual energies of a brawl, that he feels got out of control and feels a pain in his stomach. Mike feels that one of the men involved in this is an active spirit in the building, but not sure of his whereabouts.
Mike gets the image of a man in his early 40’s with greasy black hair, wearing beige trousers and a light blue shirt. Mike states that he feels this man is an officer and dates from 1890-1900. Mike also feels that he wishes to communicate, but at this present, he is unable to communicate with Mike.
At this point, Jane states that she feels a pins and needles sensation down one arm, Angie has really cold legs, and Martin feels his face tighten.
Alanna holds a lone vigil in one of the cells and notes nothing other than a heavy atmosphere in the cell.
Franks box and table tipping were attempted without any notable results. EVP session was also held without any results.
North Tunnel – 22:45
Mike picks up on the energy of some sailors which he feels are German and gives the year 1941, Mike also states that they were held captive here for a short time before being moved on to another camp.
Mick and Angie both hear a faint cough
Franks box experiment attempted and all heard the names Richard and Philip and the words “get out” which was repeated 3 times upon request from the team.
In the upstairs rooms, various noises were heard, but nothing conclusive, an intermittent light was seen by Mick and Angie, no logical explanation could be found. Mike saw a black shadow move across the room, but could not rule out “corner of the eye phenomenon” with plenty of bats flying around the tunnels.
Main Rooms – 00:30
Mike picks up on the spirit of a man called Corporal Ruben McMahon, who stated that he was in the Royal Engineers and was based here, with 18 others between 1948 and 1953.
Team B
Anti Tunnel – by Spiral Staircase – a whistle on 2 separate occasions was heard
North Tunnel – 21:15
The Spirits wanted us to split up to talk with them – we went into different tunnels splitting into pairs.
Kieran heard a rustling behind him in the room he was in.
Ceris and Caroline saw a shadow in front of Gina when she was sitting down in one of the tunnels.
Main Buildings – 22:45
Glass divination experiment carried out with the following results
Chief Petty Officer who died in 1945 and was born in 1921 – he was 24 years old, and was based in Portsmouth.
Both teams hold a vigil in the North Tunnel at 01:30
Everyone saw 2 flickering lights that appeared to dance around the tunnel behind us
Gina states that she felt a push on her right arm when Mike asked the spirits if they can touch someone in the group.
Research has found that Fort Widley did briefly hold some German Prisoners of War in 1941, but it has been unable to ascertain whether these prisoners where in the German Navy.
Also, it has been discovered that the Royal Engineers “Bomb Disposal team” was housed in Fort Widley from the end of the war until 1953, but as yet, no record of a Ruben McMahon has been found.

Fire alarm activated – no explanation could be offered by the staff of the location. Various lights and sounds heard throughout the séance, no conclusive explanation can be found for any of these.
Room 200
EVP session. In response to questions, a voice is recorded on an analogue voice recorder, which appears to tell us to f**k off. However, this is not picked up on the digital video recording. Click here to download the EVP and here to download a cleaned up, slowed down version.
Room 203
Mike picks up on a female spirit called Ann. Franks box experiment attempted and the following is heard:

No other conclusive results are noted.
Ballroom
Glass divination experiment attempted, no movement noted.
Hallway
Mike picks up the image of a female domestic called Jane, she was aged 22 years and was wearing a blue dress with white apron. She gives the year 1562. Mike feels she is connected with a buttery and may be a milk maid. Mike also states that she is connected to a farm hand called Robert Askham and that this may be a secret relationship shared between the two.
Mike also picks up on a male spirit called Edward and dates this to the early 1700’s
As Mick descends the staircase, Mike states that a female, in a black robe, appeared to take place of Mick. Mike feels this is connected to the Benedictine sect and therefore, concludes that she may be a nun.
Video evidence of a locked off camera in room 203 appears to show some anomalies, notably what appears like a transparent arm appearing on the left hand side of the footage. Further analysis is currently being carried out of the footage
